RAYMOND J. CHARLONNE

77, of Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Kent Regency Health Care Center, Warwick. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice A. (Gallucci) Charlonne. They were married for fifty-seven years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Oliver L. and Eva (Berard) Charlonne. Mr. Charlonne was a truck driver for the former Tilcon-Capaldi Construction Company for thirty years before his retirement. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Ray was a founding communicant of Holy Apostles Church. He was a member of Teamster's Local # 251, E. Providence, Kelley-Gazzero VFW Post, Cranston, and the Cranston Senior Center, where he was an avid pool player.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving sons, Raymond S. Charlonne of Miramar, FL and Robert A. Charlonne of West Warwick. He was the father of the late Rodney J. Charlonne. Ray was the cherished grandfather of Michael J. Charlonne of FL. He was the brother of Jeannette Normandie of Venice, FL and the late Eva Hassell, Arlene Belanger and John Charlonne.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
