RACHEL F. (MACARUSO) PALUMBO

99, formerly of Laurel St., Johnston, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Berkshire Place Nursing Home in Providence where she resided and had exceptional care for the past 16 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Palumbo. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Philomena (Marcello) Macaruso.

Mrs. Palumbo worked for the former MCS Jewelry Co. before retiring and was an avid bowler.

She was the devoted mother of Richard A. Palumbo and his wife Sandra of Johnston and Maryann Lepre and her husband James of Providence; loving grandmother of Richard D. Palumbo, Tammi Messier, James Lepre and Patricia Leo; loving great-grandmother of six; and dear sister of the late Rose Corrado, Angelina, Luigi, Thomas, Salvatore and Nicholas Macaruso.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
