Pompeo A. DeVecchis, 71 passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Pompeo and Margaret M. (Latorre) DeVecchis. He was the beloved companion of Lori Gionis.
Pompeo proudly served in the US Navy, during the Vietnam Era. He worked for the Town of Johnston, for the Department of Public Works for 34 years. He was a devoted and loving father. His hobbies were riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, but his favorite pastime would be anytime spent with his grandchildren.
He is the loving father of Angel Tacelli and her husband Mark, Gino A. DeVecchis, and Nicholas M. DeVecchis and his wife Janice "Stormy". He was the dear brother of Amalia Blinkhorn and her late husband Gerald, and Jo'Ann Bertani and her husband Paul. He was the loving grandfather of Michael S. Pilkington, Nicholas A. DeVecchis, Isabella K. DeVecchis, Masimo B. Riccio, Pompeo M. DeVecchis, Luciano E. DeVecchis, and Rosalina L. DeVecchis.
His funeral will leave Monday January 23, 2023, at 9:00 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue., Providence, Burial with full military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISTING HOURS will be held Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 pm.
