PHYLLIS V. (GAROFALO) GREENHALGH

Phyllis V. (Garofalo) Greenhalgh 81, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday July 16, 2009 at the Philip Hulitar, Hospice In-Patient Center, in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard C. Greenhalgh, Jr., they were married 52 years. Born in Providence; she was the daughter of the late Felice and Annunziata (Buonanno) Garofalo. Mrs. Greenhalgh was a Special Education, Teachers Assistant for the Cranston School System for 21 years. Phyllis was most proud of her Park dedication, at George J. Peters School. She is survived by her loving sons, Richard R. Greenhalgh, Sr. of Lincoln and Steven W. Greenhalgh of Cranston. She was the cherished grandmother of Richard R. Greenhalgh, Jr. and Robert D. Greenhalgh both of Johnston, and was the great grandmother of Griffin J. Greenhalgh her "Peaches and Cream". She was also the sister of Anna Petronelli of Johnston, and the late Celia Breit , Peter and Salvatore Garofalo, Maria Jaynes,and Ida Angelone. Phyllis also leaves behind, her dearest friend Alice Lanni of Cranston. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in the Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Ave. Cranston. Burial will be in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter, RI. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Phyllis V. Greenhalgh to: Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
