PETER J. TANSEY, JR

Peter J. Tansey, Jr. 80, of Carolina Back Road, Charlestown, formerly of North Kingstown, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Scallop Shell Nursing Home, Peacedale. He was the husband of the late Anne L. (Callanan) Tansey. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Elizabeth (Quinn) Tansey, Sr. Mr. Tansey was an employee of the former Narragansett Electric Company for forty-two years before retiring in 1993. He is survived by his children, Maryanne Provuncher of Charlestown, Maureen E. Russo of Shannock, Patricia M. Gooding of Scarborough, Maine and Peter J. Tansey, III of Miami, FL. He was the grandfather of eight. Mr. Tansey was the brother of the late Elizabeth "Betty" Babb. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Road, Charlestown and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 1111 Boston Neck Road (Rt.1A) Narragansett on Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scallop Shell Nursing Home, Patient Activities Fund, 981 Kingstown Road, Peacedale, RI 02879 or Home and Hospice Care of RI, South County Office, 143 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
