Peter A. Palumbo

June 10, 1954 — June 13, 2021

Peter A. Palumbo

67, of Cranston, peacefully passed away June 13, 2021.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Dr. Joseph A. Palumbo and Joan (Barfod) Palumbo, RN. Peter wore many hats in his professional career but mostly worked in real estate development. Outside of work, he was well known for being a classic car enthusiast and traveled the country attending various car shows.

He leaves four siblings and their families: brother Joseph A. Palumbo Jr., his wife Marg and daughters Lheila and Yasmina; sister Michaela Ann Palumbo; brother Jeffrey Palumbo, his wife Debra and their children Jeffrey and Elyse Palumbo and Kaitlyn, Mic and Victoria Ruggieri; brother David Palumbo, his wife Kim and daughter Joan. He was also the brother of the late Stephen Palumbo, who is survived by his wife Anne Huntington, and the late Gregory Palumbo. Peter was uncle to Gregory’s daughters Sofia and Flora and son James.

Peter’s family will be forever grateful for the love and kindness his friends showed him, not only through his illness but throughout his life and for the admiration they have expressed to us for the person Peter was. We would also like to thank the caretakers for every moment of kindness they showed Pete during his illness.

A tribute from his nephew Jeffrey

What is there NOT to say about my Uncle Pete?

For those who didn’t know my Uncle Pete, he was witty, sarcastic, compassionate, all business ... the list goes on. We shared a unique bond, always making fun of or pranking each other.

He taught me there were two ways to do something; the right way, or the lazy way. He taught me how to drive, especially manual.

I’ll miss our 90’s summer family road trips around the country where he drove and I was his co-pilot with an atlas and trip tix. Sometimes, we would bury change at random spots and go back years later to see if it was still there. He told me to travel as much as I could, and when I did, would always want a call for an update during my adventures.

I’ll also miss going to cars shows with him and dad. He knew everything about every car. And he could spot a car that had body work from a mile away.

He got me into a lot of my hobbies I’ve had or still have. One being the model train layout we made way back that I started to restore last year, which I’m glad he got to see.

I’ll miss his humor, his usually reasonable short temper (humorous as well), and most of all, his laugh. Rest easy Uncle Pete.
