Peter J. McLaughlin

81, of Narragansett, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Judith M. (Thibault) McLaughlin.

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Mahan) McLaughlin.

He received a bachelor’s degree from St. Michael’s College in VT and two master’s degrees in reading and library science from URI. Mr. McLaughlin taught English, reading and library science at Burrillville High School for many years, he then taught at Bishop Connolly High School for ten years and retired from St. Raphael Academy.

He was a former football and wrestling coach.

Besides his wife, he leaves a sister, Elizabeth Harnois of Attleboro, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11am at the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, 685 Steere Farm Road, Pascoag, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.
