Peter L. Kaloostian passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Talanian) Kaloostian for 57 years. Peter was the son of the late Leon and Margaret (Tahakjian) Kaloostian and was a lifelong Cranston resident.

He was the cherished father of Candace Kaloostian, Shelley Kaloostian-Conti (Joseph), and Ellen Kaloostian Ferrara (Matthew), all of Cranston, and was adored by four grandchildren, Taylor (Richard) Campopiano, Peter Conti, Grace and Nicholas Ferrara and a great-granddaughter, Stella. He was the dear brother of Robert (Sally) Kaloostian of NC and is also survived by loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Peter was a 1950 graduate of Cranston High School and a 1955 graduate of Bryant College. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in Special Services with the US Army Band. Peter loved music and enjoyed playing saxophone and clarinet as a member of a big band orchestra for many years.

Peter was the owner and president of the Virginia & Spanish Peanut Co., a family business founded in 1913 by his grandfather. He began his work there as a young boy and could perform every possible task with ease. He developed numerous friendships with vendors and customers, some of which lasted for many decades.

Peter had a unique gift for making everyone he met feel special. He had a youthful energy, a fantastic sense of humor, and loved to entertain people with stories and anecdotes. He was loving and deeply devoted to his family. His warmth and compassion were infectious and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visiting hours are Friday, January 14th from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. (MASKS are REQUIRED) Burial with military honors at Swan Point Cemetery will be private.
