Peter J. Benson

79, of Cranston, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 6, 2022. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Gail Benson, as well as his parents, Daniel and Mary (Hird) Benson and his two children Dawn Casale and Todd Benson. Peter leaves behind his daughter Lori Benson-Joaquin, her husband Jon and son-in-law James Casale, along with his eight grandchildren, James Jr, Alicia, Taylor, Micheal (Casale), Jacob, Simone, Nicholas, Nathan (Joaquin); and his sister Barbara O'Connor, his nieces and their families.

At the age of 18, he married Gail Gama, the love of his life and started a family. Owner of Peter J Benson Plastering for over 45 years working daily with his right-hand man, Ken Hoyit, focusing on historic renovations and residential plastering projects. One of the most notable was a multi-level renovation at The Turks Head building in downtown Providence. Peter had a fondness for boating and fishing, spending summers at his family's Great Island beach house, that he carried throughout his lifetime. Peter was always ready and available for an adventure with his daughters and grandchildren. He had a great love for all animals and provided genuine care to each and every one of them. Peter's enthusiasm for social interaction Trumped all other interests. He could rope anyone and everyone into a conversation even if it was one sided. BE GOOD!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Committal Service on Saturday, November 19th, at 10:00 a.m. in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
