87, of Johnston, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence. Peter was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Smith) Antosia. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Peter P. Antosia, Sr. and Anna M. (Macchio) Antosia. Mr. Antosia was an Army Veteran and served his country in WWII. He began his career at R.I. Hospital as a microbiologist. For twenty six years he worked as an Administrator for U.S. Army Natick Laboratories in Natick, M.A. Peter finished his career working as a Director of the R.I. Department of Health. His passions included family, reading, languages, genealogy and local history.
He is survived by his loving children, Faith Valente and her husband Mark of Cranston, Christine DeSimone also of Cranston and Dr. Robert Antosia of Boston, M.A. Mr. Antosia was also the father of the late Peter P. Antosia, III and Kenneth Antosia. Peter was the grandfather of Tristan, Nevan and Daniel and the great-grandfather of Jameson. He was the brother of Daniel Antosia and the late Michael Antosia.

Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday 6:00-8:00 p.m.
