Pauline C. Petronio

75, of Providence, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Marguerite (Nardolillo) Petronio.  Pauline was the loving sister of Richard Petronio and his wife, Rebecca of Cranston.  “Aunty Paula” will forever be lovingly remembered by her niece, Sarah (Petronio) Northup and her husband John.  She is also survived by her significant other, Richard Abram of Providence.

Paula had numerous interests during her life.  She graduated from Carnegie Institute and worked in the medical laboratory field as a bacteriologist.  She went to study education at Annhurst College and later worked as a middle school teacher where she touched many lives.  Adding to her academic and professional background, she wrote articles for the Italian Echo.

Growing and nurturing roses was a passion of Paula’s.  Not only were her roses beautiful and luscious, she masterfully planted them in her concrete driveway.  The stark contrast of concrete to the roses’ natural beauty, always brought a smile to her face and to others.

She loved her family and was a committed caregiver to her father until he passed away.  Paula will be remembered for her dynamic and warm personality that lit up any room.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Providence.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Tuesday morning from 9 – 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
