88, a resident of Manilla Avenue in Cranston for fifty-seven years, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Tassinari.
Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Augusto and Paolina (Culla) Piacitelli.
Mrs. Tassinari graduated from Cranston High School East and received an associate degree from Bryant College. She worked as a medical secretary and then as a sales associate at Filene’s before retiring.
She was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards, going out with her girlfriends, going to the beach, swimming and traveling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them at their activities.
She leaves three daughters, Laurie Sutherland and her husband Everett of Narragansett, Stephanie Tassinari and her fiancé Mark Shovlin) of Narragansett, Jodi Murphy and her husband Greg, of North Kingstown; and eight grandchildren, Amanda Dion, Robert Dion, Christopher Pellichero, Thomas Dion, Matthew Murphy, Kathryn Pellichero, Stephen Murphy and Patrick Murphy. She was the sister of the late Stephen Piacitelli, Frank Piacitelli, Ida Picano, Lola Pistoni, Gloria Marcoccio, Emma Ferrante and Gilda Piacitelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Paula was an active supporter and participant in her Alma Marta, so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cranston High School East Alumni Scholarship Fund, 899 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910.
