88, of Cranston passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Maureen E. (Sullivan) Okolowitcz for sixty-four years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Walter and Veronica (Kolan) Okolowitcz.
Mr. Okolowitcz was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War in Germany and was part of the 43rd winged victory chorus division.
He was a supervisor at North Safety for forty-two years and had worked at First National Market for twenty years before retiring.
With an affinity and love for the water, Paul and his wife Maureen would often go on joy rides always ending up near the ocean, where they would sit and talk about everything and nothing. Greater than his love of the water was his love and pride in his family. Though not perfect, Paul and Maureen instilled in their children the values that are necessary to have a successful life.
Besides his wife, he leaves his six sons, Ret. PFD James Okolowitcz (Robin), Joseph Okolowitcz (Leslie), Robert Okolowitcz (Steven Medeiros), CPD Inspector Thomas Okolowitcz (Lisa), Donald and Stephen; his daughter-in-law, Paula Okolowitcz, his brother, William Okolowitcz (Maria); his sister-in-law Helen Okolowitcz; ten grandchildren, Paul III, Jason, Zachary, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Joshua, Emily, Olivia, Torie and Tarah Okolowitcz; two great-grandchildren, Paul IV and Alexa Okolowitcz and many nieces and nephews..
He was the father of the late Paul E. Okolowitcz, Jr.; and brother of the late Walter Okolowitcz and Dorothy Zuba.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10am in St. Paul Church, One Saint Paul Place, Cranston. His burial with Military Honors will be private in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Church.
