He was the brother of Erasmo Lischio, Jr., Frederick Lischio, Mary Geitz, Rita Vargas and the late Ralph Lischio and Michele Lischio. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Paula Schick, her husband Frederick, and daughter Lynn Moran and her husband Steven. He was the beloved grandfather of Paul Schick, Amy Santosuosso, Allison Schick, Lauren and Alexandra Moran and great grandfather of Olivia and Andrew Santosuosso, and Hannah Schick. A graduate of North Kingstown High School, he was proudly inducted into the North Kingstown Athletic Hall of Fame.
Mr. Lischio was an alumnus of R.I. State College (currently URI) and was a member of the Beta Psi Alpha fraternity. During WW II, Paul postponed his studies in civil engineering in 1943 to enlist in the US Army Air Corp, serving as a bombardier in the European theatre. At the conclusion of the war, Paul returned to RI State College to complete his studies and enter the workforce in the construction industry. In 1959 he founded Heritage Homes, Incorporated, serving as President and CEO until his retirement in 1992. Under his leadership Heritage Homes, Incorporated constructed hundreds of single family homes in Washington County in addition to several commercial and multi-family developments.
In retirement, Paul dedicated his time and resources to youth sports, including the renovation of Donald Downs field in North Kingstown which was renamed Lischio field in his honor.
An avid golfer, Paul was a past member and director of Alpine CC and Point Judith CC and was a current member of Bear Lakes CC in W. Palm Beach, Fl. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM on Tuesday March 19 at St. Thomas More Church in Narragansett, RI. Calling hours are 4-7 PM on Monday, March 18 in the Nardolillo Funeral Home SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 1111 Boston Neck Road (Rte. 1A), Narragansett, RI. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Slocum Baseball Club, 55 Brenton Ct. North Kingstown, RI 02852 or St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Ave., Narragansett, RI 02882 would be appreciated.
