PATRICK J. FITZGERALD

62, of Johnston, passed away on Thursday October 6, 2011 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John P. and Mary (Mulvey) Fitzgerald.

Patrick was a self employed auto mechanic for the past 40 years. He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran and Past President and member of the Smithfield Lions Club.

He was the father of Patrick J. Fitzgerald, Jr., Julie Iannitti, and Dina E. Fitzgerald and is survived by Joyce M. Fitzgerald, the mother of his children and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his companion, Janet Martin and her children, Christine, William and Tricia Martin. Patrick was the brother of John M., Charles, and Paul Fitzgerald, Mary Joanne McGannon, Sheila Maloney and Deborah Connell.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Raymond's Church, 1240 North Main St., Providence at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
