67, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Pat was born in Providence on July 30, 1954, to the late Robert and Charlotte (Hunt) McLean. She was a sister to the late Cathy Lemoi and Kenney MacLean.
Pat dedicated her life to taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was married to the late Raymond Vincent Whelan. They shared five children, Raymond Whelan, Penny Whelan, who is married to Jonathan Ortiz, Candy Whelan, Randall Whelan, and Tammy Whelan. Pat was also the mother of Malinda Erikson, who is now married to Lee R. Erickson.
Patricia was also a loving grandmother to Thomas, Alyssa, Judah, Trenton, Avelina, Kaylee, Jay, Elijah, Devon, Cailey, Tristan, Jesse, Jacob, and Charlotte. She was an aunt to Brandi Lemoi and practically a mother to Jonathan Ortiz.
Pat was the first in her family to go to college. She received her associate's degree in Psychology at the Community College of Rhode Island.
Pat loved sudoku and crossword puzzles. She loved talking about politics, white chocolate, and giving a friendly conversation to a stranger or someone she loved. She would give her opinion without flinching, but she never dismissed you for your choice and always welcomed you home.
Pat was immensely proud of her family and left behind nothing but beautiful memories. As her last moments of life neared, she always tried to put her family first and held herself with dignity and strength.
Pat was the protector, the anchor, and the rock of her family. We are all blessed to have had her in our lives. She will surely be missed.
All Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Committal Service on Saturday, November 27 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
