Pasquale Cortellessa

87, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.  He was the beloved husband of Grace (Lentini) Cortellessa for 65 years.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Assunta (D’Arezzo) Cortellessa.

He was a graduate of Central High School in the early 1950’s where he was the first All-State athlete in wrestling and football with his brother John for multiple years.  He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War.  Pasquale was a long-time employee of 20 years at the Quonset Naval Air Station as a jet mechanic.  He also worked as an auto mechanic at his brothers Texaco Station for many years on Allens Avenue in Providence and was a partner in the River Café in Providence.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and loved his family above all.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Pat V. Cortellessa and his wife Kristen of Cranston, Carol Callahan and her husband Terrence of Cranston, Lisa Papa and her husband John of Cranston; cherished grandchildren Stephanie Capasso, Joelle Cortellessa, Tyler Giammarco, Gian Papa, Vincent Cortellessa, Tiana Papa, Alexander Cortellessa, and great grandson Anthony Cortellessa; dear sister Viola Pizzi.  He was the brother of the late Angela Scungio, Helen Perfetto, Michelina LaFazia, Delfina Tridenti, Mary DiGuiseppe, and John Cortellessa Jr.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law Robert Lentini and his wife Kathy, and many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral services will be respectfully private.
