PASCO "PAT" PICANO, JR, 78, Administrative Clerk of the Rhode Island Superior Court for Providence and Bristol Counties died on July 15, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jennie (Zincone) Picano. He was the beloved father of three children, David P. Picano, Stephen P. Picano and his wife Carolyn, and Patricia A. Picano. He was the loving grandfather of two grandchildren, David P. Picano, Jr. and Victoria M. Picano, all of Cranston. Mr. Picano was the son of the late Pasquale and Francesca (Maggiacomo) Picano. He was the brother of Antonio Picano, Mary Hasty and the late Frances Humlak.
During his 35+ years in the Rhode Island Superior Court Clerk's Office, Mr. Picano was always available to help young attorneys and seasoned professionals as well as the general public navigate through the court system.
Mr. Picano was the recipient of numerous awards for his dedication and commitment to the legal profession including the RI Bar Association Public Service Award; RI Trial Lawyers Public Service Award; The Justinian Law Society Public Service Award; and the RI Superior Court Employee of the Year Award. He was an Honorary Member of the Justinian Law Society and a member of St. Mary's Feast Society.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
