OVIDE J. VARIN

90, of Narragansett, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at South County Hospital, Wakefield. Born in Providence, He was a son of the late Peter and Marie (Roy) Varin. Mr. Varin was a machinist for the former Leesona Corporation of Warwick. He was a US Army Veteran serving during WW II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Ovide was a former officer and member of the South County Kennel Club, the RI Rose Society, Basenji Club of America, Disabled American Veterans, and an avid gardener. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ovide was the brother of the late, Joseph, Ernest, Clarence, Arthur, Francis, Georgiana Rondeau, and Lillian Iaciofano. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Veronica's Chapel, Boston Neck Road, Narragansett and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett on Friday 4-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
