Oswaldo "Al" DiPietro

85, of Sutton St. Providence, passed away on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mary DiPietro for 62 years. Oswaldo was born in Providence, a son of the late Santo and Antonetta (Lanna) DiPietro. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II, a mechanic and transmission specialist for over 60 years and an active member of the Smithfield, RI Lodge of Elks # 2359. He was the brother of the late Eligio DiPietro and Alfio DiPietro and is survived by his sisters, Rita Simonelli, Gemma Dean and Elena Gemma. He is also survived by his sons, Ronald DiPietro of Providence, John DiPietro and his wife Audrey Kukul of West Greenwich, Kenneth and Catherine DiPietro of Cumberland and David DiPietro of Cranston. He was the grandfather to Alicia DiPietro, Kevin DiPietro and Shanna and her husband Gary Pascale and great grandfather of Dominic and Rocco Pascale. The funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Brayton Ave., Providence. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4-8 pm.
