Oscar E. Gutierrez

78, of Cranston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, September 10, 2015, at Elmhurst Extended Care Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of fifty-seven years to Mary V. (Lara) Gutierrez. Born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, he was the son of Carlos and Marcela (Munoz) Gutierrez. Oscar was employed by the former Jostens Jewelry Company of Providence for seventeen years before his retirement. He was a professional soccer player in Bolivia. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Patricia M. Gray of New York, NY, Maurice O. Gutierrez and his wife Maria of Cataumet, MA, and Cecilia M. Duarte and her husband George of Narragansett. He was the cherished grandfather of Daniel, Ashley, Aaron, Adrian, Eleni, Sofia, and Benjamin. Oscar was the brother of Alicia Gutierrez, and Mary Justiniano, both of Bolivia. He was the uncle of Maria Quiroga of Cranston. His funeral service will be held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted.
