ORLANDO ANTHONY 'LONNI' ZOGLIO

85, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at his home. Born April 26, 1927, in Providence, RI, he was the husband of the late Viola Mary Folaros Zoglio, and son of the late Antonio Zoglio of Naples, Italy and Sylvia Migone Zoglio of Rome, Italy.

A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II in the South Pacific 1943-1946, he received the Victory Medal, American Area Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. Mr. Zoglio was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus-Fast Lane Group, the Men's Garden Club, a volunteer for Mobile Meals Service, and a Scout leader at St. John's Lutheran Church. He was formerly employed as a Cotton Classer with Jones Gardner & Beal in Rhode Island 1950-1962, Allen, Gardner & Scott in Spartanburg, SC 1966-1985, and as a Lab Manager at Dan River Industries, Danville, VA 1985-1991.

This great, wonderful, caring man is survived by his daughter, Regina Zoglio Searle and husband Robert L. Searle of Spartanburg, SC; son, Ray Zoglio and Wendy Burch of Spartanburg, SC; daughter-in-law, Keva Zoglio of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Armando Zoglio of Cranston, RI; sister, Bianca Uva of Cranston, RI; brother-in-law, Col. Arthur Falaros (U. S. Army, Ret.) of Boca Raton, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Anthony Zoglio; brothers, Joseph Zoglio and his wife Margaret, Robert U. Zoglio and his wife Yvonne, Romolo A. Zoglio and his wife Tina, Rose Nerney and her husband Teddy, Al Snow and his wife Bernice, and Mario Zoglio; sister, Carmela Green and husband Leo; brother-in-law, Americo Uva; and sisters-in-law, Bella Zoglio and Eve Folaros.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday August 10th at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 1493 Cranston St. Cranston, followed by interment with Military Honors in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston.
