Born in Providence, RI, a daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline (Michno) Furgal, she lived in Providence most of her life before moving to Cranston 16 years ago. Olympia worked for BIF Industries for 25 years, retiring in 1987.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Micheletti and husband John of Smithfield; a son, Charles "Chucky" Kryston and wife Wendy of Putnam Station, NY; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Furgal of Bella Vista, Arkansas; a niece, Linda Furgal-Spencer and her husband Moe of South California; and her cousin Loretta McConnell of Whitesboro, NY. She was the sister of the late Gustav "Gus" Furgal.
Olympia, called "Babcie" by her four grandchildren, John Micheletti, Jr. and his wife Rosa of Johnston, Melissa Tomao and her husband Ron of Smithfield, Alicia Kryston of Lansdale, PA, Nathan Kryston and his wife Jenna of Darsden, NY; and her greatest joys, her five great-grandchildren, Andrea and Rebecca Tomao, Tyler and Brianna Micheletti and Lawson Kryston.
Along with her family, Olympia leaves behind two longtime friends, Betty Bianco and Ilde Buontempo.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Her funeral and burial will be private.
