NORMAN A. PRESTAGE

89, of Cranston, passed away, Friday, May 28, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of sixty-six years to Nancy (Natalia) Prestage. Born in Douglas, AZ, he was a son of the late Norman and Florence (Brown) Prestage. Mr. Prestage was a custom cabinet maker and master craftsman for the former Gorham Silversmiths of Providence for forty years before retiring in 1985. Norman was a US Navy combat veteran serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres during WW II. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1738, Cranston. Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Norman A. Prestage, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Cranston. Norman was the grandfather of three and the great-grandfather of eight. He was the brother of the late Paul and Ruth Prestage. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church, Elmwood Avenue, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
