Norma V. (Tundis) LaPrade

August 31, 1938 — October 4, 2021

Norma V. (Tundis) LaPrade

83, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away on Monday October 4, 2021. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Carlo and Viola Tundis.

Norma was the beloved mother of Craig Fletcher and Jason LaPrade and was the sister of Edward Tundis and the late Benjamin Tundis.  When she was young, she wore a white pleated skirt and worked at a department store counter downcity at Gladdings. She dreamed of being in fashion. After school, she would sit on her family’s dock and look out at the water, wondering where she would someday travel. She later fulfilled her dreams of seeing the world, spreading love and beauty across continents and oceans, all while wearing an amazing collection of vintage hats.

Norma loved holidays, daily devotionals, tulip farms, animals, and giving from within. She gave her heart to the first graders at Brown Avenue School, the kids at Disneyland, the elderly in nursing homes, and most of all to her family and friends from Johnston to Barcelona, finding a church wherever she went.

Norma loved to say, "Every day is a gift. That's why they call it the present."

Her Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be private.
