NORMA ANN (CONLON) HARRIS

NORMA ANN (CONLON) HARRIS, 79, of Swallow Dr. Cranston, passed away Friday August 28, 2009 at RI Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of Edward K. Harris Jr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Della (Brennan) Smith. Norma worked for Dee Manufacturing for many years before retiring. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, bowling and cruises. Besides her husband she was the devoted mother of Debora West Shapiro of Charlestown, and Linda M. Higger of Basking Ridge, New Jersey and mother in law of Dr. Jeffrey Shapiro and Richard Higger. Grammy Norma leaves four grandchildren Daryl West, Lauren, Matthew and Ellen Higger. She was the sister of the late George Arnold, Dorothy McGuirl, Mary Mercurio and Charles Conlon. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco's Church 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, WarwickVisiting Hours Monday 5-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: RI Food Bank 200 Niantic Ave., Providence, RI 02907.
