Nicolas Anthony Musumeci

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we mourn the unexpected passing of our beloved Nicolas Anthony Musumeci of Jamestown, RI, on Monday, March 17, at the age of 26.

Nic will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his parents, Lynne and Armand Musumeci; his sister, Amanda Musumeci; his grandparents, Flora and Anthony Simeone; and the late Helen and Armando Musumeci; his aunts, Lisa Simeone (husband Henry) and Lora DiMuccio (husband Robert); his uncle, Alan Musumeci (wife Jeanette); his cousins, Robert DiMuccio Jr. and Stephanie Musumeci; as well as many other relatives, dear friends, and colleagues.

Though Nic hailed from the small island of Jamestown, he was undoubtedly a man of the world. After earning his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island, he began a career in cybersecurity at the Newport Naval Base, where he was able to pursue his avid interest in computers.

He later embarked on a master’s degree in Communications while transitioning his career to Marketing with a well-known West Coast firm. Along the way, Nic developed a deep love for travel, exploring destinations such as Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Sicily, Germany, London, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, and Paris. He also traveled the United States from New England, to Florida, and California.

Nic was an accomplished fisherman who spent time aboard the Irish Jig in Block Island Sound, where he caught numerous striped bass and other species. In Marco Island, Florida, he fished aboard the Blue Runner, landing an impressive 250-pound grouper and a 125-pound blacktip shark.

Beyond fishing, Nic had a passion for adventure, enjoying snowmobiling and skydiving. He embraced the thrill of every activity and was a true competitor, always striving to “raise the bar” and push himself to new heights.

Nic worked as a Community Service Officer for the Jamestown Police Department. As always, he approached the job with passion, integrity, and commitment, quickly getting to know everyone in town and forming lifelong friendships within the department.

Above all, Nic’s greatest passion was running. Anyone who knew him knew that he ran every chance he got—rain or shine, for both pleasure and competition—earning numerous awards and widespread recognition. He ran track and cross country for four years at North Kingstown High School and continued at the University of Rhode Island. After college, he remained dedicated to running, winning races throughout New England and locally in South County.

Nicolas was a friend to everyone he met, and everyone who met him was a friend- often drawn in by his quick wit and infectious sense of humor.

He was deeply kindhearted, fiercely loved his family, and was a devoted advocate for animals. His presence in our lives was a gift, and he will be profoundly missed.

Calling hours are respectfully omitted, and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Potter League For Animals in Nic’s memory.
