November 7, 1961 — April 20, 2021

Nicola ‘Nick’ V. Gesualdi

59, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vito and Anna (Castelli) Gesualdi.

Nick was a dedicated employee of the Johnson & Wales University Facilities Management department for 21 years, where his work as a groundskeeper was regarded as “arbor art” on campus.   He took pride in his work and often shared pictures of his creations with family and friends.

He was a 1979 graduate of Cranston High School East and studied art for two years at Rhode Island College.  He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Cranston.

Nick enjoyed fishing, bowling and winemaking as a young man. Over the years, he maintained a large vegetable garden, sharing its bounty with friends, neighbors and co-workers.   A kind man, Nick was always ready to help anyone; especially when his muscular strength was needed. He loved good food, and preferred home-cooked meals prepared by his sister, Maria. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan.  Dogs and babies always put a huge smile on his face. His laugh was loud and infectious, and he was quick witted, as well. His family cherished him.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Maria Negovetti and her late husband, Antonio, of Cranston, and Donna Landry and her husband Hayward of Rogers, CT; a nephew, Antonio V. Negovetti of Providence, a niece Kenna Young of Dayville, CT, and a recently deceased nephew, Piero Negovetti.  He also leaves an aunt, an uncle and many cousins and friends.

Visiting hours to be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.  His funeral and burial will be private, but his Mass of Christian Burial will be livestreamed on Monday at 10:00 a.m. through Nardolillo Funeral Home Facebook page ( http://www.Facebook.com/nardolillofh ).  Please kindly omit flowers.
