NICOLA RICCI

93, of Johnston, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Mafalda "Mildred" (DelToro) Ricci. Born in Johnston, he was a son of the late Luigi and Carolina (Scungio) Ricci. Mr. Ricci was employed by the former New England Telephone Company for thirty-five years before retiring in 1978. He was a WW II veteran serving in the US Army. He was a member of the Kelley - Gazzero VFW Post #2812, Knights of Columbus, Sacalabrini Council, Saint Mary's Feast Society, Santa Maria di Prata Society and the former UCT of Johnston. He is survived by his daughters, Nikla A. Ricci and her husband Anthony of Johnston and Mildred A. Mastantuono and her husband Anthony of Cranston. Nicola was the loving grandfather of Anthony Ricci, Jr., Nicholas Ricci and Lori Maggiacomo and the great-grandfather of Brianna and Aria Maggiacomo. He was the brother of Eleanora Rotondo of Cranston and the late Benjamin, Joseph, Domenic and Louis Ricci, Celia Conti, Jennie Martinelli, Margaret Gross and Emily Saccoccia. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday morning 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
