Nicholas Silvestri, 80, formerly of Clarence Street Providence, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Elena (Spaziano) Silvestri. Mr. Silvestri was a life long Providence resident. Mr. Silvestri was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 27years retiring in 1990. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Nicholas was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the 43rd Infantry Division, Veterans Association. He is survived by: one daughter: Joyce E. McLellan and her husband Robert of Cranston, one son: Nicholas R. Silvestri and his wife Nanci of Providence. Grandpa of Nicole and Lisa Silvestri; David and Steven McLellan. He also was the brother of the late P. Robert and Gus Silvestri. His funeral will be held on Monday at 8:00am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Avenue Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence at 9:00am. Burial, with military honors, will be held in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 5-8pm.
