NICHOLAS A. PALERMO

NICHOLAS A. PALERMO, 77, of Oxford St., Cranston, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Miriam Hospital in Providence due to a long term illness. Born in Johnston, he was the beloved son of the late Antonio and Nicoletta (Candelmo) Palermo.

Nicholas was a cutter at Rayco Manufacturing Co. for 23 years and later at C&M Manufacturing Co. for 12 years before retiring in 1991. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Kelley & Gazzero Post # 2812. He was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary at St. Charles Borromeo Church.

He was the beloved brother of the late Rose C. Fagundes; nephew of the late Frank Candelmo; loving uncle of Roseann Maciel, Lawrence Fagundes, Joann Campo, Susan Almonte, Diann Pennine, Debbie Martin, Anthony, Joseph and Michael Fagundes and Loriann Brynes; loving great uncle of 34; and loving great-great uncle of 16.

Funeral from the NARDOLILO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 178 Dexter St., Providence at 10:00 a.m.

Interment with Military Honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
