Nicholas J. Mancini 89, of Hartford Ave. Johnston, passed away Thursday January 15, 2009 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Lenore V. (McDonald) Mancini. They were married 61 years. He was born in Providence a son of the late Antonio and Carmella (DiNuzzio) Mancini. Mr. Mancini was retired from Atlantic Tubing and Rubber in Cranston. After his retirement from Atlantic Tubing and Rubber he worked in maintenance at the Pawtuxet Village Nursing Home in Warwick, and also was the Door Keeper at the State Senate in the State House. Nicholas also was WW II Army veteran, earning 5 battle stars in the Battle of the Bulge. Nicholas was a charter member of the Johnston Legion Post # 92. Besides his wife Lenore he is survived by his loving son, Peter Mancini, Sr. and his wife Linda of Smithfield, his brother John Mancini of Johnston. He was the grandfather of James and Kristen Cotoia and Michael Mancini, and was the great grandfather of 5. Nicholas was also the uncle of Anthony Mancini and Ann Marie Imondi. He was the father of the late Ellen Cotoia, brother of the late Peter Mancini, and grandfather of the late Peter Mancini, Jr. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Rocco's Church Atwood Ave. Johnston. Entombment with military honors will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum, in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday 4-8 pm.
