NICHOLAS J. GIANQUITTI

NICHOLAS J. GIANQUITTI, 86, of Rotary Dr., Johnston, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Greenville Nursing & Rehabilitation in Greenville. He was the beloved husband of the late Antoinette G. (Celletti) Gianquitti. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Luigi and Rose (Capuano) Gianquitti.

Mr. Gianquitti was a custodian for the Town of Johnston for many years before retiring and in his younger years he worked for his cousin at Adolph's Meat Market on Federal Hill in Providence. He was a WW-II U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient.

He was the devoted father of Georgiann J. DeFeo of Johnston and Rosemarie J. Stanielon of Coventry; loving grandfather of five; loving great-grandfather of eight; and dear brother of Anna Balasco, William Gianquitti, Robert Gianquitti and Corine DiSarro, all of Providence, Evelyn Casale of Cranston and the late Mary Moore.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
