A proud veteran of WW-II, Nick was an Army Ranger with Merrills Maurauders serving in China-Burma-India. After returning from the war, he owned the Sugar Bowl Restaurant in Thornton. Nick later worked as an illustrator at Davisville Sea Bee Naval Base in North Kingstown and was also a drummer and member of Providence Federation of Musicians. He was a lifetime member of Kelley & Gazzero Post 2812 in Cranston; Disabled American Veterans; and Italian American Veterans.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Nannette L. Molloy and his son Nicholas Cerra, Jr. and his wife Sally-Anne, all of Cranston; his grandchildren, Scott, Craig and Lauren Cerra; his sister, Margaret Cerra of Johnston; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Albert and Fred Cerra and father-in-law of the late William R. Molloy.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
