NANETTE P. (APOLLO) SHANNON

86, of Catlin Avenue East Providence, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Orchard View Manor, Riverside. She was the wife of the late John A. Shannon. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Sabastino Apollo and Angelina (Salzillo) Apollo-Carrera. She was employed for American Universal Insurance Company for many years before her retirement. As an accomplished pianist, she volunteered her time to entertain members of the East Providence Senior Citizens during lunch time and also at the Orchard View Manor . She is survived by one son: Gabriel R. Apollo of Garner, NC, two sisters: Corinne Grande of Greenville and Anna De Cesaris of Cranston. 2 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. Nanette was also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Domenico "Tommy" and Richard Carrera. The family would like to thank Dr. George Bayliss and the team at Fresinious Medical Center, Orchard View Manor and Home and Hospice of RI for the extraordinary care given. Relatives and friends are invited to attend committal services on Friday at 10:00am in St. Ann's Cemetery Chapel.
