NANCY (DI MAURO) COMELLA

95, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at home. Mrs. Comella was the wife of the late Nicholas Comella. Born in Foggia, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Antoinetta (Sabatino) DiMauro. With her husband Nicholas, Nancy owned and operated the former N. Comella & Sons Market in Oakland Beach, Warwick and the former Knotty Pine Grill in Pascoag. She also worked for Newport Creamery as an Assistant Manager and trained new employees for 25 years until her retirement. Mrs. Comella was a member of the former Manton Seniors Center, loved to dance and was an avid bowler.

She is survived by her children; Angela Parziale and her husband Michael of Glocester, Lorenzo "Gig" Comella of CA, Antoinette Truman and her husband George of Cranston, with whom she lived, Carol Ann Pisaturo and her husband Bob of Lincoln and Thomas Comella and his wife Christine of Johnston. Mrs. Comella was the grandmother of 28, great grandmother of 44 and great great grandmother of 4. She was the sister of Michael DiMauro of FL, Vincent DiMauro, Natalie Emma and Carmelina Montante, all of CA and the late Joseph DiMauro. She also leaves behind her dear friend Mario Arcese.

Funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Church of St. Mark, Garden City, Cranston at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 3:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
