MSgt (ret.) Pasquale L. "Pat" Del Ponte

78, of Barrington and formerly of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Andreozzi) Del Ponte.  Born in Providence, Pat was the son of the late Vincent J. and Sarah (Villatico) Del Ponte.  Pat served in the Rhode Island Air National Guard for over 29 years.  He was a longshoreman and the owner of Del’s Jewelry in Providence, RI for many years before retiring.

Pat was fortunate to have traveled the world and see many beautiful places.  He loved the Opera and loved to cook.  Most importantly Pat loved his family and friends.  He adored his wife of over forty years.  He taught his children to work hard and love even harder.  He was proud beyond words of his children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Pat is survived by his loving children, Rhonda J. Della Grotta, Vincent J. Del Ponte (Cheri) of Johnston, James V. Del Ponte (Joanne) of Barrington and Jonathan D. Del Ponte (Nadeaje) of North Providence.  He was the cherished grandfather of Victoria, Vincent, Michael, Sage, Maddox, Abby, and Michaela.  Pat was the dear brother of Maria Tamborelli of East Greenwich.

His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Martha’s Parish, East Providence at 11 a.m.  Visiting hours are private.  Inurnment, with Military Honors, will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
