90, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Victor Schiffman. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore R. Gentile and is survived by her three children, Karen Cardillo, Keith Gentile, and Kenneth Gentile; her grandchildren Tiffany Cardillo, Dennis Cardillo, Jr., Gian Gentile, Jourdan Rancano, Brenden Gentile, and eight great-grandchildren. Monica was predeceased by her sister, Mary Rochon, and her brother Victor Schiffman, Jr. Monica was a retired secretary at the Health Department.
Monica and Sal were married for 61 years. Upon meeting Salvatore, she developed her love for cooking from his Italian family. She became famous in the neighborhood for her amazing Italian dishes, pastries, and professional cakes. Everyone loved her warm demeanor. Monica was a caring and loving wife and mother who went above and beyond each and every day for her children. She also loved every member of her family greatly as well as plays, music, and family vacations. Monica and Sal enjoyed family time, going on weekend trips, and dancing at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. She is now with her late husband dancing at night by the moonlight and passing out recipes by day. We love and miss you!
VISITING HOURS will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm for friends and relatives at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Cranston on Friday, September 20, 2024. The burial will be respectfully private to the family.
