Modesta "Molly" (Vessella) DiPetrillo, 104, of Plantation, FL, formerly of Johnston, RI, passed away on November 8, 2009, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Born in Roccadarce, Italy, she was the beloved wife of the late John DiPetrillo, owner of the former Progress Ice Cream Co., and the daughter of the late Carlo and Angela Vessella.
Molly is survived by her devoted children, John DiPetrillo (Joan) and Ret. RI Family Court Judge Carmine DiPetrillo (Norma) of Plantation, FL, Raymond DiPetrillo of Margate, FL, Angela Corsi of West Warwick, and Gloria Geczi (Frank) of Issaquah, WA.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister Antonetta "Dolly" DiCiurcio of Providence; and brother-in-law Anthony DiPetrillo, Esq. of Cranston. She was the sister of the late Mary Cerrone, Viola Pereschino, Frances Grasso, and Albert Vessella.
Molly will be remembered for her independent spirit, strong will, and love of life, family, and song.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 14 at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
