99, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at RI Hospital in Providence. She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Anthony and Marie (Ponticelli) Melfi. Mildred was a graduate of Central High School and attended Rhode Island School of Design. She worked as a clerk for John Hancock for many years until her retirement.
She is survived by her loving siblings, Clara Campagnone, Evelyne Henry, Agnes Castiglioni and Raymond Melfi and his wife Gloria all residing in Cranston. She was also the cherished aunt of several nieces and nephews and was the sister of the late Emma Chiello, Olga DiPetrillo, Mitchell and Anthony Melfi Jr.
Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Paul's Church, One St. Paul Place in Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday morning 8:30 am- 9:30am.
