92, of Greenville Ave., and formally of Elm St., Newport died on Monday, December 24, 2007 at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Archibald P. Cooper Sr. She was born March 28, 1915 in No. Scituate a daughter of the late Walter E. Lawton Sr. and Lula ( West ) Lawton. She was the beloved mother of Dr. Gordon K. Cooper of Johnston and Archibald P. Cooper Jr. of Worcester, MA. She was the sister of the late Earl Lawton of Florida and Walter E. Lawton Jr. of Esmond. She also leaves behind several grand and great grandchildren. She lived in Newport for over 50 years moving to Johnston in 2000 to live with her son, Dr. Gordon K. Cooper. She was a certified nursing assistant for over 30 years at Newport Hospital until her retirement in 1974 due to ill health. Beside her love for her family, she was also a devoted cat lover and had many through out her lifetime. She was a friend to many and loved by all. The family wishes to express there utmost appreciation for the wonderful care given to their loved one by the dedicated staff at Roger Williams Medical Center ICU especially her nurse Melissa. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service to be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 1:PM in Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum, One Rhode Island Ave., Johnston. Entombment will follow. Arrangements by the Nardolillo Funeral Home, Cranston.
