MICHAEL A. SCUNGIO

70, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 9, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of forty-eight years to Judith A. (Moore) Scungio. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late, Michael A. and Elizabeth (Pezzullo) Scungio. Michael was the vice-president and co-owner of the former G. Pruefer Manufacturing Company of Johnston for forty years before retiring in 1998. He served in the Air National Guard from 1962-1968. Michael was a member of the Highland Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughters, Ann Marie Scungio and her husband John "Mitch" Centracchio of Johnston, Brenda E. Melo of Cranston, Cheryl A. Feole and her husband Ronald of Coventry, and Deborah M. Morrissey and her husband Lawrence of Cranston. Michael was the cherished grandfather of Stephanie P. Feole, Charlotte A. Nehme, Ronald J. Feole, Jr., Amanda L. Sajkowski, and the late Lawrence Morrissey, Jr. He was the great-grandfather of Lilyanna N. Malek. Michael was the brother of Robert Scungio of West Warwick, and the late Raymond, Frederick, and David Scungio.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Apostles Church Memorial Fund, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston, RI 02921.
