39, of Cranston, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Newport Hospital. Born in Providence, he was the devoted and loving son of Richard D. and Sharon A. (Gage) Drury; cherished brother of Lauren E. Harrington and her husband Taylor, and loving uncle of Calum, all of Cranston. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was a delightful person who brought joy with him everywhere due to his lively spirit. He was kind and gentle. He excelled at soccer and basketball. He was a graduate of Cranston High School West. Michael had worked at Nationwide Alarms, earning an award for consistent service.
Michael was adored by his family, and he loved them equally. He enjoyed the numerous family get-togethers, always ready to join in after dinner games or the highly competitive Christmas Eve cookie contest. He was quick to laugh at himself. He was smart, witty, charming, and more insightful than he ever gave himself credit for. Michael showed his love in quiet ways, holding his mother’s hand, hands on his father’s shoulders, hugs and a genuine “I love you”.
Michael enjoyed playing cards and frequently won at the casinos. He embraced the finer things in life, clothes and shoes, and always looked just right. He took pride in his appearance stating that a good haircut and shave mattered in how you present yourself and how you are perceived by others.
