Michael R. "Bobby" Norato,75, of Oaklawn Ave., Cranston passed away Wednesday May 13, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Providence. He was the husband of Elvira "Vera" (Melfi) Norato for the past 50 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michael and Rachael (Lorenzo) Norato. Bobby was a loving and thoughtful father, grandfather who was endlessly devoted to them. He was a Korean War Marine Veteran. Bobby worked for the City of Providence at the Port of Providence as Chief of Security for many years before retiring. He was a member of local 1033 Besides his wife, he was the father of Robert Norato of Warwick, Janice Benevides of Cranston, Diane Norato of Cranston and Michael Norato of Winter Park, FL., grandfather of Robert, Christopher, Zachary and the late Marc Anthony and brother of Richard Norato of Coventry.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann's Church 280 Hawkins St., Providence at 11 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
