16, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of Sean P. and Dawn C. (DiBiase) Hanley. Mia was the cherished granddaughter of Edward J. and Ana M. Hanley of Cranston, Catherine M. Howarth and the late James E. Howarth of Warwick, and John T. DiBiase and his wife Cheryl of Johnston.
Mia was a sophomore at Cranston High School West. She was a unified member of the Falconettes Dance Team. Mia was a horseback rider at Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center since she was 2 years old. She loved watching sports with friends and family, especially the Boston Bruins and the Patriots. Her favorite player was Tom Brady. Mia loved her dogs, Duke and Buddy. She loved her friends and family and adored all babies.
Our beloved warrior, Mia was a medical miracle, as she pioneered research for Pompe Disease. Even through adversity, she handled all challenges with dignity, grace, and bravery. Mia was selected as an Ambassador of Children’s Miracle Network Champion Child, representing Rhode Island in 2009. Mia had the honor of meeting former President, Barack Obama.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 27th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. SEATING WILL BE LIMITED. A livestream of her Mass will be shown via Nardolillo Funeral Home Facebook page: www.Facebook.com/nardolillofh. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
