MERRILL L. (GRODNICK) SCHRECK

86, of Putnam Pike, Greenville, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010 with her family by her side at Miriam Hospital in Providence. Merrill was the beloved wife of the late Henry E. Schreck. Born in Newburgh, NY, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Helen (Mc Dermott) Grodnick. Merrill was the first woman hired in management at NBC Radio. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, playing bridge, listening to Frank Sinatra and was an avid Scrabble player. Merrill is survived by her 3 children Matthew Schreck and his wife Kristen Phillips of West Hartford, CT, Melissa Schreck of Warwick, RI and Marcia Montecalvo and her husband Michael of North Scituate, RI. She was the cherished "Granny" of Brianna and Isabella Montecalvo of North Scituate, RI. Merrill was also the sister of Michael Grodnick of Shushan, NY. Her funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. VISITING HOURS: THURSDAY 5:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Rocco's School, 931 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
