Merrick A. Cook, Jr.

Merrick A. Cook, Jr., 83, of Providence, passed away on March 1, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of Nancy Day Cook for fifty-three years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Merrick A., Sr. and Helen M. (Trainor) Cook.

A Municipal Planner for forty-eight years, he worked for the Cities of Providence and  Central Falls and the Towns of Cumberland and Johnston before retiring. His family was the light of his life.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons Merrick A. Cook, III, JPD, PPD (Ret.), his wife Christine and their daughter Bailey; Bryan C. Cook and his wife Jennifer and their children, Samantha, Sierra and Merrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10am in St. Matthew Church, 1299 Elmwood Avenue, Cranston.  His Burial will be private.  VISITING HOURS Friday from 4-7pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Merrick A. Cook, Jr. to the Cleveland Clinic, Attn: Philanthropy Depart., 2950 Cleveland Clinic Blvd, Weston, FL 33331.
