Melina M. (Tateosian) Akalarian

98, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 29, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Akalarian. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Nishan and Berjoohi (Simonian) Tateosian. 

Melina worked in the business office of Cranston Public Schools for many years, and most recently in the guidance office at Cranston High School East. She was an avid New England Patriots fan. Also, she had a profound love for the lemon cake at Seven Stars Bakery and looked forward to her daughter's visits knowing they had the delicious dessert for her. 

Melina is survived by her loving daughters, Rena Anthony and her husband Michael of Warwick, and Carla Akalarian of Somerville, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of Madeleine Anthony and the late David Anthony, and the dear sister of Arlene Pelland and the late Aram Tateosian.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Church of the Transfiguration, 1665 Broad St., Cranston. Please wear something purple or yellow in honor of Melina.
