Maureen A. (Maynard) Harrington

85, of Narragansett, passed away peacefully at her home on December 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Robert D. Harrington.

Born in Galveston, TX she was a daughter of the late Donald G. and Margaret E. (Dooley) Maynard.

She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Rhode Island College and was a teacher before starting her family.  She was the co-owner of Hallmark Tire Company in Glastonbury, CT with her husband before retiring.

She leaves her six sons and their wives, Robert M. Harrington (Ellen) of Glastonbury, CT, James M. Harrington (Karen) of Francestown, NH, John F. Harrington (Kimberly) of Glastonbury, CT, Stephen V. Harrington (Linda) of Marco Island, FL, Patrick J. Harrington (Sandra)  of Glastonbury, CT and Thomas E. Harrington (Betsi) of Deering, NH; three siblings, Donald Maynard of IL, James Maynard of FL and Denise Alfano of New York, NY; nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Howard and Gerald Maynard.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett.  Her Burial will be private in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury, CT.   A live streaming of her Mass will be held on Friday at 10am and may be found at www.stmarystaroftheseari.org.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Health Hospice of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
