MATTHEW A. RICCI

Matthew A. Ricci 61, of Scituate Avenue, Cranston, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at home after a two year illness with cancer. He was the husband of Doreen F. (DiFazio) Ricci. They were married for seven years. Born in Providence, he was the son of Tulio and Anna (Moretti) Ricci of Cranston. He was the owner of M.A. Ricci Trucking Company of Cranston for four years. Mr. Ricci was Vice-President of the former Brian Supply Company of Providence and President of the Fluid Power Division for thirty years. He was also employed at Applied Industrial Technologies and Motion Industries both of Warwick. Mr. Ricci was a member of the Rhode Island Troopers Association. Matthew was an avid collector and enjoyed restoration of antique cars. Matthew frequented the many car shows and cruises for charity throughout New England. He was co-chairman of "The Auto's of the World" car show. Besides his wife and parents he is survived by his children Bryan M. Ricci and his wife Dana of Johnston and Stacy M. Brothers and her husband Edward of Spring Hill, FL. Mr. Ricci was the grandfather of Ashlee Harrison of Spring Hill, FL. Matthew was a kind and gentle man who will be truly missed. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Friday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860-9924 or the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
